How to Care Instructions
Proper maintenance of your Bowranda Roof and Blinds is essential to ensure their longevity and optimal performance.
The most effective way to care for your Bowranda Roof and Blinds are to clean them with mild soapy water using a soft bristle brush (non-abrasive), cloth or sponge and rinse thoroughly with clean water. This applies to the roof membrane, blind fabric and the powder-coated aluminium which we recommend be cleaned at least twice per year.
Use a dilute solution (1:20 ratio) of a mild detergent, e.g., pH-neutral liquid hand dishwashing detergent in warm water (DO NOT use solvents) to remove dust, salt and other deposits.
Ensure you thoroughly rinse the surfaces with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove all residues.
DO NOT use turpentine, white spirits, thinners, citrus based cleaners or other aggressive solvents on powder coating (these may be harmful to the extended life of the powder coated surface and should be avoided as the damage may not be visible immediately and may take up to twelve months to appear).
Keep sunscreens away from powder-coating, some sunscreens adversely affect painted finishes.
Do clean only when powder coated surface temperature is below 25 C°.
Channelled blinds will benefit from the application of silicon spray applied to the channels – enabling the blind fabric or PVC to move more freely up and down the channels. This is best done twice per year.
Vuplex should be used on clear PVC blinds every three months to maintain pristine condition and extend their life. Vuplex can be purchased from your Bowranda agent or from a local Bunnings store.
